Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman gave a lot of interesting insights to the world yesterday during an interview with CBS. Most of what was said seemed to be things the world already knew or could have guessed the Prince would say. He has been in the spotlight this year due to allegations of being involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khoshoggi. That being said it was still pretty noteworthy.

After say Iran's decision to attack Saudi Aramco was done out of stupidity he said that due to the shear size of Saudi Arabia it was nearly impossible to prevent. He then went on to say that because Aramco has 5% of the worlds supply of oil, this isn't just a Saudi issue but a global threat and attack by Iran. Prince MbS then warned that oil prices may soar to prices we haven't seen in our lifetimes. Salman then stated that the world needs to act now to push back against Iran.

He said the Middle East region "represents about 30% of the world's energy supplies, about 20% of global trade passages, about 4% of the world GDP". As a result he says the world must act otherwise Iran will become more fearless and topple the global economy.

The suspects could be heard laughing before the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a British barrister has said

Later on in the interbiew when asked about the recent murder of Jamal Khashoggi MbS "accepted some responsibility" for the killing. However, he denied being involved. Salman simply meant that because he is the leader of Saudi Arabia. He place the blame on a rouge operation and claims that he had no knowledge of the killing.

So although Prince Salman is suspected of targeting the journalist for speaking out against government officials and dealings, there is no evidence connecting him directly to the attack.
